Chief Technology Officer / Director of Engineering
Taking Motocross Racing to the next level
I started my relationship with RaceReady while employed at Depth Interactive. I helped to maintain their first iteration of their registration software. After leaving Depth I was brought on as first their Director of Engineering and then was asked to serve as their CTO to create the latest iteration of their software.
It was clear that their initial build out was not going to be able to scale with their growth. I was tasked with architecting a new system that could work in both online and offline envoronments. Me and a team of both internal and external developers were able to create a system that was able to sync data between the two environments.
Many races are run in the middle of nowhere with no internet connection. If the promoter has no internet connection, the race can still be ran and afterwards the data can be synced to the cloud. This was a huge win for the promoters and riders to be able to see their results both in real time and after the race.

Full Featured App for Both Racers and Promoters
RaceReady is a full featured app that allows racers to register for events, view results, and see their standings. Promoters are able to create events, manage registrations, and view results. The raceready web app is a custom built solution that can manage all payments, both cash and credit card transactions.
The live timing results support multiple types of races, including motocross, hare scrambles, and enduros. And all of the racers can see it update live on their phones while the race is in progress.
The application is much more than just its software and involved a lot of research into hardware and networking. The product is being run at motocross tracks around the country each weekend.
