Engine Software to power Toy Story 3

The design of Toy Story 3 thought outside of the box. With both a story mode and a toy box mode, the design team needed an easy way to create new levels and experiences for players.

I was responsible for creating many of the components that powered the game. Our engine at Avalanche Software created a system similar to Unreal Engine's Blueprints, allowing designers to create new levels and experiences. My job included me doing a lot of communication across different teams and meeting with the lead designers and artists to make sure the new components were translated into code and broken down for project management.

The game was released on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. My main focus was the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, but the Wii version also included code that I had written.
